My geography may be a little shaky here, but isn't Tallahassee closer to New Orleans than Tuscaloosa?

    The difference is negligible.

    No. By like 100 miles.

And what I meant was, the Sugar Bowl is generally considered SEC territory.

I don't think that matters much. Doubt there would be much if any home field advantage in a Fla. State-Alabama game, or in a Florida State-Oregon game in Pasadena for that matter.

Of course it doesn't matter much. That's my point.

I would think Florida State fans would enter the playoffs, assuming the team makes it, with a "we'll show them" attitude. Or are they really that far gone as to think the world's against them because it has noticed the program is in corrupt cahoots with local law enforcement?

    What do you think?

Some fans always think stuff like that about a program. Self-pity is a default mode for nature's born losers. But is it a consensus? I don't know Florida State fans to be honest.

Barring losses by four of five other teams in the Top 7, Mizzou's not getting in even if it beats Alabama.

The loss to Indiana is worse than any loss by anyone in the Top 20, including Ohio State to Virginia Tech. Mizzou lost another home game 34-0.

It's possible to get in the playoff with one bad loss maybe. But not two.

    Re: New Orleans

Tallahassee may be just five hours away, but for the bulk of Florida State's fanbase, which is located in Central and South Florida (the state's population centers), it's likely still a flight away.

Alabama also has a HUGE alumni base in New Orleans. For years, there was a loophole that Louisiana residents could go to Alabama without pay out of state tuition (something about certain majors not being offered in Louisiana).
