There are some damn good bowl matchups. Michigan State/Baylor. Auburn/Wisconsin. Notre Dame/LSU. Kansas State/UCLA. TCU will dumptruck Ole Miss. Arizona State/Duke should be entertaining. Arkansas/Texas. Boise/Arizona. Nebraska/USC. Even Miami/South Carolina has some appeal.

Not a terrible slate of bowl games.

The 13th game was the thing. An extra chance to showcase yourself against a quality opponent. That's what the Big 12 missed.

They don't have to split divisions. Just take the top two and play a game.

Could probably just put West Virginia in there with the four Texas teams.

Wouldn't make a ton of sense geographically, but that horse left the barn with the Mountaineers joined.

FB, you have to have divisions, because there is no guarantee there wouldn't be a three-way tie in a unified conference with a completely circular head to head result of A beats B, B beats C, C beats A.

Yeah, everything is far from fixed, but I'll have interest in Jan. 1 bowl games for the first time in awhile.

Just pick the two out of the three with the higher ranking in the AP poll. There are other tiebreakers leagues use.

    Good lord.

Seriously, we haven't figured out that using the AP poll to determine postseason assignments is a bad idea yet?

    Opening playoff lines:

    Alabama (-10) vs. Ohio State

    Oregon (-8.5) vs. Florida State

The Peach Bowl is a 12:30 p.m. game? WTF?

    Yep.

The Orange Bowl is pretty much contractually obligated to be a night game and the playoffs get Jan. 1, so the Peach has to go somewhere.
