This NBC Saturday night intro is stupidly over the top.

    Meyers in mid-season form.

On 3rd and 4, Houston runs and gains a yard. Meyers mistakes the line of scrimmage line for the first down line and announces first down

Lobos are going to get thrashed but they just rammed it down ATM's guts and finished with a nice 27-yard TD run. 14-7.

St. John's, the D3 power in Minnesota, currently has 194 players rostered, so there are quite a few numbers shared by three players, and this is not unusual there. What I've been told is that they routinely have 80-90 freshmen, many of whom have to know they will never see the field, because the practices aren't that hard (they weren't hitting in practice there 60 years ago) and it's a way to make friends when you're new on campus.

Bama passing game has not magically healed itself in the off-season.

My son had a clambake at my house today. Several of his invitees are clearly degenerate gamblers as they arrived high-fiveing themselves about Colorado and bemoaning the Michigan-E.Carolina game. There men have small children! Based on our conversations on the topic, they are gonna lose their shirts this season well before Thanksgiving. I tried to talk to them, but no use.

After a quarter century of my last acquaintance with the state, I'm stunned Arkansas still plays road games at a 55K goat ranch in Little Rock.

I covered a game there once. If nothing else, it spared me the drive to Fayetteville from the LR airport.
