Francois: that's one elite QB who definitely made a difference.

Funny thing is, no one around FSU or who follows the program ever thought -- now or in 2016 -- that Francois' skills matched the national hype.

The over was over before the 4th quarter started.

The biggest issue, I suspect, is the coach’s refusal to do as everyone else in the universe does: spend some time with the broadcast partner the day before the game. If that leads to snark by ESPN, I can’t muster much sympathy for the Huskies. And I like the Huskies.

As that Auburn defender crashed into Browning late in the game with the crown, helmet to helmet, and no flag, I couldn't do anything but think this is what UW gets, playing a 'neutral site' game in Atlanta.

Things look pretty open for the Hokies to make the playoff now. All their tough games left are at home, and that pretty much amounts to Notre Dame and a shaky-looking Miami. Their toughest road game left is probably (squints)...Pitt? Then they just need to get lucky in the ACC championship against (presumably) Clemson.

Stop trying to make the loss to Duke happen with posts like this.

Tech is good for one gag job a year. Probably be someone stupid like North Carolina.

And if I was a Florida State booster I'd have some real questions after that game last night. I havcn't seen a team look that confused since Wannstedt opened his Pitt career with a primetme ass kicking from Notre Dame at home.

Georgia Tech is a prime candidate for the VT gag. Always is.

Their O-line looked like they hadn't been coached at all. I know VT has the LUNCH PAIL DEFENSE, but I'm pretty sure this one isn't viewed as one of Foster's better efforts. Disappointing to see Taggart fall into the Mike London routine of trying to beat them to the edge. That shit will never work. I can't recall a major coaching hire laying that much of an egg in Game 1.

In 1995, UCLA crushed Miami 31-8 in the debut of Butch Davis, who was taking over a 10-win team.

    He rebounded.

Do you think they'd do that if Saban or Meyer didn't meet with them? Doubtful.

Chip Kelly at Boise State in the Blount Punch Bowl.
