I definitely don't think they would have dropped them behind all the undefeated teams.

I could see some ballots like this:

    1. Oregon
    2. Alabama
    3. Kansas State
    4. Notre Dame

LSU has two losses, so they're not even in the conversation anymore.

Only way that scenario could possibly happen this year is if Oregon, ND and KSU all lose and Georgia runs the table and beats Bama in the SEC title game. In which case we'd have a complete mess with at least 5 one loss teams making a claim. Somehow I doubt the two of those five from the SEC would be chosen two years in a row, the uproar factor would just be too great.

This year is kind of going to suck as far as BCS frothing anger goes, though, because they already have the "fix" coming in next year, so anyone who gets left out, it's the last time that happens. So it's really just a one-time-only who would you most like to see get screwed?

I think the ND fan base wins that one in a rout. :)

LET'S MAKE UP STORY LINES, GUYS!

WOO I BET THE MIDWESTERN SWATH STILL THINKS THE BIG TEN DESERVES A CHAMPIONSHIP BID.

You're letting your own personal bias get in the way there, you've made it quite clear that you hate ND over the years, doesn't mean others see it the same way. Phil Knight and and the Bammer fan base rank WAY up on the "wouldn't mind seeing get screwed" charts as well.

KSU's the only one of the four that doesn't really have much of a hateability factor. I think a KSU national championship would be pretty frickin awesome, because it's just so damn unlikely, given the school's lack of tradition and geographic and demographic disadvantages. About the closest thing NCAA football could come up with to a "cinderella" football champion.

That's who I've sort of decided I'm pulling for, even if I haven't gotten around to actually watching anything more that a few snippets of their games this year.

They wouldn't have been, and they wouldn't have done it. The rankings aren't a measure of talent. They're a measure of accomplishment. Had Alabama lost at LSU, the Crimson Tide:

a.) would have a loss, unlike Oregon, Kansas State or Notre Dame.
2.) would have no wins against the top 20, unlike Kansas State and Notre Dame.
iii.) would have lost three of their last four to LSU, which would have led Nick Saban to puppy murder.

No actual voter would have ranked Alabama No. 1 after a loss. No one.

Jim Moore, a very reliable Wazu source, is reporting that Marquess Wilson has left the team. He's WSU's top receiver, and one of the best in the pac-12. Not good for Leach.

Them crackers is rigging the polls for the Ess-Ee-See. It's a conspiracy Pawwwwl.

Also, why would those theoretical super biased Southern writers leave Bama in the top 2 but overlook LSU with the same record and head-to-head win?
