I think people are saying the Big 12 is deep this year, not that it's all together better than the SEC.

7-12 is relevant in that discussion.

These days, most bowls have automatic conference tie-ins that are predetermined years in advance. So if a certain conference (Big 12, Big East, ACC, whoever) has X number of teams get to six wins, a bowl is stuck with them.

Add to that the fact there are now 35 bowl games (about 10 too many) and just going to a bowl isn't saying much anymore.

So, yeah the Big 12 will get 7 or 8 bowl teams and win maybe 2 of those.

Just wanted to stop in and back this up, even as an LSU fan.

Gutted by the result Saturday, but more disappointed than frustrated. LSU gave 'em hell, and that's all I can hope for going against the greatest coach in America, Darth Saban.

Miles made some puzzling decisions, and I have yet to figure out why LSU backed its corners seven or eight yards off Bama's receivers -- specifically, Norwood -- on that final possession, especially after they completely shut McCarron down the entire second half to that point.

I was in Tiger Stadium for the 2008 game, Saban's first back in BR with Bama. Very similar feeling Saturday as I had when I attended that one (lost in OT after a Rickey Jean-Francois FG block to end regulation).

But Tide, roll on the rest of the way. Especially next week vs. Aggy.
