Mr Recruiter. When you’re on your eleventh coordinator, eventually it’s not them. It’s you.

Somebody needs to take Oklahoma's old place in the bracket.

Why does State College have a short runway? They've tried four times and can't find an extra yard.

Auburn opened the fourth quarter by converting on third down for the first time today. That leaves the teams a combined 3-for-22.

That should excite folks from Coraopolis to Burgettstown.

Especially if it’s a road game for PSU.

I obviously relish the losses of all things Penn State; especially when it involves world class recruiter and sexual assault investigations tamperer James Franklin, but they win by 10 if Pribula plays. Ohio State fucked around enough that the game was there to take and I think Pribulas legs would have gotten that done.

    Time for the Cocktail Party!

My recollections of the 1978 game (I had to be at the WRUF studios in Gainesville for the 1979 game) ...

    1. Jacksonville reeked of pulp paper plants.
    2. The Gator Bowl was the most rundown stadium in a rundown part of town.
    3. I witnessed a brawl at 9 a.m. in the parking lot between dozens of drunk fans who probably never made it inside the stadium.
    4. Wes Chandler made one of the most impressive TD catches I had ever witnessed despite Florida losing the game.
    5. After the game, there were hundreds of passed out people in the bleachers, abandoned for all intents and purposes, like wounded soldiers on a battlefield.

I covered a Gator Bowl in the late 1990s and Jacksonville had cleaned up its act by then. Smelled better. Stadium was way nicer. Didn't feel dangerous after dark.

But one in-person Cocktail Party was enough for me.

Whoever coaches Tulsa, they ought to fire him twice for going behind four touchdowns against a truly wretched UAB.

Why the hell is Cam Ward even in the game let alone throwing deep with Miami up 53-31 with under 3 minutes to play.

Gophers win their fourth in a row as they jockey for an imaginary B1G West title. This despite one of the dumber fake punt calls you’ll see this season (4th and 15, with a fourth quarter lead, asking your punter to run about 30 yards).

P.J. got away with it though and Minnesota will get in a bowl game.
