It shouldn't affect them much tonight but all these injuries on the defensive side of the ball are going to be a problem down the road for Oregon.

The impression I get -- and there's no way to know, since they don't talk about it -- is that some guys may be close to returning but they're trying to go without them tonight. I know a few are at least in uniform, but aren't playing.

But they lost a couple guys tonight too.

Interesting take from a Wazzu beat reporter.

True -- and losing Patterson is huge. The line will likely be better off next week, but the secondary could be in bad shape.

On Alabama ... Is this real?

Bottom time stamp of 4:41 pm is I think reflecting my time (Pacific) -- says it was 5 hours ago. And Finebaum had been tweeting all day but nothing since then.

My guess is it's a silly stunt since Bama lost.

I don't know, but if voters are going to mark down ND for almost losing to Pitt, they have to count this against Oregon. Cal is 3-7 and at one point trailed Utah by 36; at home they have lost to Washington and Nevada.

Yeah, on further review, let me rescind any optimistic comment I made about the line. Their top five D linemen are out and they have three true freshmen playing there now. The defensive ends are a tight end and a walk on.

I'll be happy if they make it through this one.
