I think it's become more common for schools to get rid of coaches before season's end (or before bowl games) so they can get the jump on the coaching search/recruiting cycle/transfer portal. But that move also triggers/panics some schools to lock up their coach before better schools and jobs come calling.

No coincidence that Fansville looks an awful lot like College Station. (Dr Pepper HQ just 3 hours up the road)

Beat me to it. Nice pull.

But the move in State College smells strongly of passing the buck. If Franklin is as much in charge as he continuously tries to assert to the media, fan base and everyone else, couldn't he have done something about the play calling long before now?

There was a huge crowd the last time GameDay was at Microville Tech. Took my son and his best friend.

What do coaches do with all their clothes, shoes and bags? Put them on the curb? Goodwill? Bonfire?

RichRod had a huge garage sale and donated all the money to a local charity when he left Michigan, IIRC.

    That might be it.
Brett McMurphy is reporting that the trustees agreed to the execution on Thursday. Remarkably, that didn’t leak.

... so where do those boots that Jimbo got in College Station go? eBay? Craigslist?

One question unanswered by a piece in The Athletic: Does the Jimbo deal have a mitigation clause?

Also today: Boise State executes its coach less than a year after a 10-4 season.

With aTm opening the coaching carousel went from zero to sixty in a quick damn hurry.

I’ll be curious to see what the next guy’s deal entails: years, $ and buyout/mitigation specs.
