I have no love for James Franklin, but schools that run off coaches who routinely win nine or ten games sometimes find the new hire isn't the answer. If they keep winning every game except Michigan and Ohio State, they'll be in the damn playoff anyhow.

    They gonna hire Urban? >grin<

Moot point, because they don't have the deep-pocketed donors who will shell out that kind of buyout money.

Seriously, where does a place like aTm turn? And at what price?

Every place is 30 minutes from every other place.

Because every place is 15 minutes from Tahoe.

The thing about AtM is this.
You bring them trophies, they don’t care what you make. You want 15 million a year? Fine. You better bring home some hardware.

Yet nobody has brought home any hardware of consequence in a quarter century: 1998 Big 12 title.

Led by a quarterback who transferred there when he couldn't beat out Peyton Manning.

    From the Twitterz.

The narrative that James Franklin cannot win big games is absolutely fact now. 1-6 vs Top 10 Teams At Home 5-9 vs Ranked Teams at Home 1-8 vs Top 5 Teams 3-7 vs Michigan

Franklin is awfully good at beating up on Indiana and Maryland and awful against good teams.

Yeah. Isn't there some point when consistently losing to the best teams on your schedule is a problem? Regardless of how many wins you rack up otherwise.

A few weeks back I said Franklin has been running an elaborate scheme on this fanbase since he arrived. He doesn’t really challenge his team in the preseason, usually playing four bullshit opponents. Then he racks up the wins against Indiana, Rutgers, Maryland and whatever shit piles from the Big 10 west get scheduled. In essence, Penn State’s schedule has at nine built in wins at minimum annually. He previously has a three game schedule every year but, with Michigan State falling into a volcano then falling for Mel Tuckers banana in the tailpipe, it’s down to two.

And so PSU starts like 6-0 every year and they get all giddy and it’s Lucy with the football every time. And I’d still take that over the horseshit Pat Narduzzi is currently trotting out and anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves.
