    K-State is a win at Iowa State (no cake walk) away from 10-2 and either second outright ahead of OU or a piece of a three-way first-place tie in the Big 12 (They'd lose the tiebreaker, but still get the trophy and the title.) All for a team that was expected to need some luck to make a bowl.
