I don't see anywhere near the same amount of blind bandwagon jumping for Houston that we've seen in the past for Boise.

May have something to do with the fact that ESPN isn't leading the charge for UH. I"m sure that has nothing to do with the fact that the WWL isn't CUSA's primary broadcast partner. No, it has nothing to do with that at all...

And I don't understand that outlook. Why would you want to see a pair of SEC teams play for the national title when you could have a matchup with some element of newness, a touch of the unknown?

I want to see the two best teams in America play for the national championship. Not a fucking novelty act.

And in my head, I can't argue with you one bit. An LSU-Alabama matchup would probably put the two best teams in the country on the field.

    Again.

From the viewpoint of fun, I'd rather see David vs. Goliath, see the intangibles that MAKE college football put into play, like Boise State vs. Oklahoma.

I love it when Butler gets to the NCAA Tournament championship game.

I love it because it earned its way there.

In football, everyone wants to give the football Butler-of-the-moment a free pass into the title game. Just because they think it would be fun.

Yes. And like I said, I'm not saying this is right. I'm just saying it would be more appealing for me to sit down and, like, actually watch the whole thing.

If people love the bowl system so much, keep it in place.

After the conference championship game, seed the top eight teams and send them to the Rose Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl, the Sugar Bowl and the Orange Bowl.

Play those games on Jan. 1 (I know... what a concept...)
The four winners play the following week.
The remaining two teams play the week after that.

Is that so fucking difficult to do?

Fully understood. And you know the other part of something like that? If you have the favorite stepping up, you get to see them put some real highlight moments out there.

To the viewer, beats the hell out of 9-6.

So you are taking the, "Blowouts in national championship games between good teams and shitty teams are good because the good teams can get more fun highlights" position?

In some odd way, yes, that's exactly the position I'm taking. It's better than watching two teams and waiting for a crack in the wall. Not for everyone, I understand. 9-6 may be considered a great game to some.

But the WWL doesn't show the top 10 plays in which a runner gets stopped for a 1-yard gain.

BTW, I have a problem with throwing a "shitty" tag on any team which puts up a 9-2 or 10-1, regardless of whether they played 11 Troys.

Aside from the USC-Texas game, has there been a BCS title game anyone but fans of the two schools remembered for more than a day or so?
