    Good one.

Ron Zook's another. Even though his overall tenure at Illinois has been a failure, he did take the Illini to the Rose Bowl a few years ago.

Zag: Do I think Houston would beat an LSU or an Alabama? No, I don't. But I'm not ready to say it's impossible. Whom a team plays is no function of how good it is; it's just a function of how good or poorly it schedules. I've seen Houston play three times this year and several times in the Keenum era. It has the offensive tools to give it what I cited earlier, a puncher's chance against any top power.

Holtz - forgot he got canned in Arkansas. Sherrill's tenure at miss. state also ended with NCAA issues and Switzer hasn't had another college job after Oklahoma.

Would Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and about five or six other teams - including Oregon - be undefeated against Houston's schedule? Um, yes.

I guess Dennis Erickson would qualify. He had a very sucessful stint at Oregon State and Arizona State after leaving Miami a mess.

One thing about Houston: I bet the vast majority of its actual fans would be so pumped to be in a BCS bowl they wouldn't care at all about missing the national championship.

One other thing about Houston: It doesn't have many actual fans.

One third thing about Houston: It hasn't won the two toughest games on its schedule yet. Let's lay off.

Time to start a Week 13 thread? I think so.

But he didn't leave under a cloud, he left for a better gig with the Seahawks.

Hell - there are a ton of former college coaches who torched their programs and later went on to the NFL, Butch Davis, Ron Meyer, Frank Kush, Jimmy Johnson (Okie State), Mike White (Cal), Pete Carroll, Switzer...

Once a dirtbag, always a dirtbag. Desperate, UA reached down-low. They'll get exactly what they're paying for.

Is somebody advocating for Oklahoma State to play in the title game right now? No. They aren't.

I hope Houston gets demolished the next two weeks. Beyond recognition demolished. Just like South Florida, your other pet team, has been all season long, even though you refuse to admit it.

Of course they would. And because they wouldn't have to play the "look at me! LOOK! AT! ME!" game, they wouldn't be racking up 70 points a week, either.

The more important question: Who is South Florida going to play in the BCS Championship game?

Everyone else is just battling for second.
