I always call USC-UCLA "the prettiest football game of the year." I say that only half-mockingly.

Not sure if this paragraph is motivated by ignorance of the facts or fanboi bias, but this line of whining strikes me as quite a bit out of place. First of all, the Miami investigation is still in its early stages, the NCAA hasn't even come close to the point of deciding upon sanctions yet, so I have no idea how you can possibly claim now that they've recieved leniant treatment in comparison to USC. Nor is the Ohio State matter compete yet, more sanctions very well may be coming there. Nor am I sure that it's fair to characterize the Ohio State case as "similar violations", the underlying misconduct in the OSU scandal (exchanging jerseys for tattoos, etc.) does not strike me as being nearly as egregious as the big money exchanges that apparently went on with guys like Bush at USC.

And, as for Auburn..... ok, you got me on that one ...the Auburn case was a complete bullshit whitewash by the NCAA.

I'm not even going to bother going back and looking, but- To those who thought that Georgia Tech was going to beat Georgia, well...oops. Wrong again. For the 10th time in 11 years.

Right. And Oklahoma State's case for the BCS title game over Alabama lies in the fact that the Cowboys might end the regular season with four victories against BCS top-25 opponents (Oklahoma, K-State, Baylor and Texas) to only one for the Tide (Arkansas), if Penn State and Auburn fall out this week with their losses.

Of course, a loss to the Sooners next week would render all this moot.

And Florida State beat the Gators ... with under 100 yards of offense.

UCLA couldn't even write those off as dabbling with the Nike Combat Gear, could they? Aren't they an adidas school?

Saw him play . . . one of a not-inconsiderable line of decent, flashy Purdue QBs, almost all of whom couldn't get it done on Sundays.

Of course, this goes back to the days when Purdue could actually beat the Irish, occasionally.

Others would say the death penalty, for Alabama . . . but that's what makes America great.

    Dixie, that is good.

I got Dixie's point. In terms of style and delivery, it was extraordinarily well-played.

But those of us (a not-inconsiderable number) who wish the bulk of the top of the cheatin' SEC would be nuked (excepting LSU) will never, ever go away.

    Conference deciders:

    Clemson vs. Va Tech
    Michigan State vs. Wisconsin
    LSU vs. Georgia
    Oregon vs. UCLA

    Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State
