Actual body of work? Should I count Chattenooga or Middle Tennessee State or narrowly beating USF out of conference as quality body of work? The only quality OOC game they had they lost … at home. Georgia’s OOC was worse. And all of this some how trumps a power five champion who didn’t lose anything?

This isn’t the College Football Playoff sponsored by the SEC. If zeroes from a power 5 team are good enough every other year, they’re good enough now.

I may be mistaken, but that wasn't what @dixiehack was getting at. His had more to do with seeding.

That said, I think the concern about the "just look at the loss column" is overblown. Just in looking at the CFP history, there being multiple P5 undefeateds is decidedly the exception. There've been 8 non-COVID playoffs ... in only three of those were there 2+ undefeateds.

They were actually subpoenaed in Texas and are now sequestered in Memphis.

Missed the caveat. I was reacting to last night it read more like Dixie wanted the SEC in at the expense of FSU. As I reread it now, I see the zeroes is in reference to all teams regardless of conference. But I was, again, reacting to more things said yesterday.

I do LOVE that the school's likely to be screwed over are from some of the most entitled fanbases in CFP. And I really hate the "four best teams" argument. Why even play the games? Why even have a season if the games don't mean anything? I do think the purpose of the CFP is to find THE best team - and Georgia clearly isn't it. If you are considering Georgia, why not consider Ohio State as well?
FWIW - Sagarin has it Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia and Oregon. And Florida State (no. 12 in Sagarin) has one more top 10 win than the latter two teams (which have zero).
To me, Georgia having only eight wins over conference schools, while FSU has 10, and two wins over SEC schools, makes it an easy choice. The unconvincing win over GTech didn't help the Dawgs.

That last sentence will make every Tech fan very happy.

The more teams you let in, the more teams who can make a case for getting screwed. The basketball tournaments have proven that.

Same here. I can't quite figure out how to phrase it as it should be, though. I can't imagine anyone thinks Florida State, as it's now constituted, is one of the four best teams in college football. But I'll be damned if I'd leave FSU out.

As I’ve said before, my second rooting interest after Alabama is comedy. So if they leave the SEC out, I hope they commit to the bit and say New Mexico State over Auburn was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

I am 100 percent convinced Alabama will be in. You think they’ll leave out the SEC champion?
