I disagree. I think those games are givens. Now, if they rolled by Arkansas and lose to Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and/or Mississippi, then he might be gone.

They're 1-2 right now and there's a chance they could be 1-4 or 1-5. That'd be hard for a lot of people to stomach.

Chizik won the national championship two years ago. I know he cheated to get it. I know he leaned on his assistants who are now gone. I know he's a shitty coach who shouldn't have been hired in the first place. And I know he sucks monkey balls.

But the guy won a title two years ago. It's not easy to fire someone who does that.

I'm not saying he should be gone. I'm just saying there are those who might mash the panic button is all.

The types of people who mash the panic button generally aren't the ones with money or power.

Regardless of whether or not you're expected to lose to Alabama or LSU or whomever, you can't lose by three touchdowns against your biggest rivals in back-to-back years. Yeah, Auburn went 8-5 last year. All five losses were by at least 14 points.

As was the case with Mike Shula at Alabama, Gene Chizik is a horseshit coach and Auburn can do better.

If Bobby Lowder is still running the show, it sure can. Even if he's not, it sure can.

Meanwhile, Alabama is not playing all that well and is still destroying Arkansas. Hogs with 32 yards.

If you guys think Auburn wouldn't bounce Chizik if he has a losing season and gets routed by Alabama, LSU and Georgia, you're crazy. They ran Tuberville out of town a year after he beat Alabama for the sixth straight time.

Auburn certainly could hire a better coach, but it would be very expensive to remove Gene Chizik and very, very expensive to hire a proven, certifiably elite coach. And even so, no viable candidate for the Auburn job actually has a national championship as a head coach.

And the award for "worst impersonation of a defense" goes to the Virginia Cavaliers. Yikes. Michael Rocco had better not get too comfortable, either. When accuracy is your only strong point, it tends to look bad when you make wide-open receivers dive for the ball.

They look fine to me. Think McCarron's back for next year?
