When Sparty is playing, anything is possible.

It's not like Ole Miss beat any juggernauts previously. I can see Texas in the top 10, but not No. 3.
Holy War still tied at 7 in the third.

USC vs Arkansas whenever they played last.

Well, dearest hondo, Texas had been No. 4 in my ballot last week. So, yes, I will be jumping them from No. 4 to No. 3. I apologize for any confusion my statement about my ballot might have caused you. I'll try to be more clear in the future.

    Cheers.

How could you have Texas that high when the Longhorns tanked hard relative to big expectations the previous two years and would end up going from top 10 to out of the polls?

I didn't have big expectations for them the previous two years, so that helped.

Utes up 10-7. A rough way to transition after Wynn called it a career.

Now you're just being a contrarian, Verse. But let's assume you've been out of an island compared with what other voters have done with Texas. Why did you expectations suddenly become high when they were going into this season with the same old crappy quarterback and mediocre running backs and a similarly highly regarded defense?

Last year has no bearing on this year. We know teams change year to year and UT has been lights out so far. But I wouldn't have them No. 3, just my opinion.

The team speed is better this year than it's been since Vince Young was around. That's not to say the team is better. But it's faster. These guys are flying everywhere. Last year, they were immature. This year, they know what they're doing. And David Ash has improved tremendously.

I'm not asking anyone to agree with me. But when Texas wins the Big 12, I do expect a blow job. And dools, no hands, please.

It does have quite the bearing in this discussion about what changed from one season to another.
