In 2008, Bama started 11-0 before losing their last two. You sure that was better than the Hogs?

USC will be without their starting center and placekicker.

Any word on how in the world John L. Smith - whose made millions coaching college football - is now bankrupt?

Except that most of them were Vanderbilt and a couple of others were Ole Miss and Kentucky. It has been Arkansas since 2009, though.

    It was a typo; I meant 2007. And Alabama started 2008 12-0.

Don't know why we are discussing appetizers while the main course is waiting at Jerry World.

I honestly don't see how a weekend's worth of D-II football brings in enough cash to power up the JerryTron, much less turn a profit. But I guess ego trumps accounting. The next big frontier for them should be to host simultaneous Arena Football games, splitting the scoreboard in half.

I'm seeing +21.5 on Bovada now. I should be pulling the trigger on Bama, but....I....just....can't....do.....it.

Got VT -10 and UCLA -17. Feel good about those.

Good luck getting into that press box. Hopefully they changed since 2008.

Holy shit, I am offering this suggestion to Jerry Kurz ("Commissioner" of the AFL) as we speak.

That would be nothing short of spectacular.

I hope you put everything you own on VT. That could be a blood-bath. Thing about Houston.....yeah....their defense is terrible, but they might score 40 against a UCLA defense that gave up 30 to the mighty Taylor Martinez.

You probably have more insight than I, but is there a game remaining on Missouri's schedule in which it should be favored other than Kentucky? Maybe Syracuse, I suppose. But the UCF and Vanderbilt games are even, IMHO.
