The timing of it was terrible, any "butthurt" is pretty understandable. Worse yet, most of the B1G (Minnesota being the obvious example to the contrary) is trying to upgrade their OOC scheduling. Vandy aint 'bama, but they're an SEC team. Now Northwestern has had to add Western Michigan to fill their gap & tOSU's best option looks like Tulane. Doesn't do much to help either team, in the bigger picture.

I agree, young and beat up. Wonder if Miller's issue is broken ribs? If so, hope something wasn't punctured.

Looks like it's either a big time concussion / whiplash, or a shoulder / collarbone type thing. He really got slammed. It was the kind of play he'll (eventually) learn to avoid....jabbing out the stiff arm and trying to get too much out of the play. He had a huge gain, should have know when to bail out & live to fight another down...

There was a television shot of Miller sitting on the bench which you probably saw, as well. I'm not DocTalk but the way the medical staff was administering to him led me to start discounting the shoulder-collarbone issue.

The manner in which he was hunched over walking, sitting, then on the cart made me ponder a chest or abdomen issue. You're right, it was a slam and he appeared to land in contorted way.

Just when you think Florida is slipping in the asshole department, they decree that CBS can't film the assistants in the press box. Could you pick something more petty to be pricks about?

Man, good games in South Bend and Fort Worth. The clicker is getting a workout.

It isn't pretty, but a decent punchout in Ann Arbor (she's a whore...), as well.

Tuberville must have summered at the Dave Christensen Institute for Language Arts.

He was supposed to be good, but he's really struggled. His touchdown pass today was an overthrown ball to an open receiver, where the receiver made a phenomenal diving, over-the-shoulder catch to bail him out. Other than that, he was abysmal (less than 100 yards passing against a shitty defense).
It doesn't help that in Les Miles' offense, the passing game is a complement to a strong running game. Part of that running game is the option. Mettenberger is not an option quarterback, he's a pocket passer who can scramble a bit. It takes away a big chunk of the offense. They also don't have an NFL-caliber receiver they can rely on to get open like they've usually had in the past, and some injuries on the offensive line are starting to pile up.

Add it all up, and teams are loading eight and nine guys in the box and playing man coverage. Most of the offense seems to come from the defense giving them short fields via turnovers and breaking long runs. That's not going to happen against Alabama. LSU will not move the football at all against the Tide, the defense is going to get put in bad spots and wear down, and will give up a couple of touchdowns. It's going to be the worst 17-0 blowout you've ever seen in your life.

Yeah, Mettenberger got plenty of hype over the summer. I even remember some minor speculation in Baton Rouge about whether Mettenberger would be one-and-done, which seems laughable now.

It doesn't help that there are called pass plays in which LSU sends one receiver out. But I get the impression that's by design because Mettenberger just doesn't know the playbook. He certainly doesn't seem very comfortable out there, and he always locks into one receiver. If that option's not there, he doesn't seem to know what to do.

As incredible as it may sound, I think Jordan Jefferson was probably a better QB. I figured that was a positional upgrade simply by default. Doesn't appear to be the case.

Ralphie getting steamrolled 19-0 -- not even halfway through the first quarter.

Barkley: 6-of-6, 149, 3 TDs. Yes, not even midway through the first quarter.
