    If they both win out, that would mean Ole Miss wins the SEC (as well as the SEC West) and Bama doesn't, because Ole Miss would control the tiebreakers over Bama, Mississippi State and Auburn. In that case, Ole Miss unquestionably goes ahead of Bama, though Bama might well go too.

    I don't necessarily disagree with your general premise, but if Ole Miss wins out (a very large "if"), it almost certainly makes a playoff as a one-loss SEC champ and would jump back ahead of Bama.
