To me the Beamer situation looks a lot like Bobby Bowden's last years.

Is a blow job from a porn star considered an impermissible benefit? Or do you have to do anal to reach that level? What degree of violation results in a violation?

It's only a violation, uh so to speak, if she is an alum of the school.

You are correct. Bowden won titles.

I know no one cares here (nor should they) but Pitt's rockin' it old school tomorrow.

Just another example of how big a douche Darren Rovell is.

One clarification of my Beamer stance. I'm not advocating he should be let go or retire immediately. But I am advocating him having a real plan in place to get out of dodge in the next year or two. I think he needs to admit Loeffler was a mistake and move on, but that's not his personality. He let Stinespring hang around for years and years. He's loyal to a fault sometimes.

I'm not as knowledgeable as you, but I think it's more nuanced than that. I think he fired some of the wrong guys - specifically, their recruiting hasn't been the same since Jim Cavanaugh left.

I also think their success during the Tyrod Taylor years and since has been fool's gold. The ACC, and the Coastal in particular, has been so bad that someone had to win the division, and the Hokies, to their credit, stepped in to fill the vacuum. They were a slightly better-than-average team with a good QB who could escape the pocket (be it Taylor or Logan Thomas). But the Coastal was C-USA quality at that point, and FSU and Clemson were down for the count. Credit them for taking advantage and winning championships - there are between 11 and 13 ACC teams that couldn't pull it off each year - but it masked the fact that the program was starting to decline. Let's not forget that one of those ACC championship teams lost to James Madison. (And I really can't stress enough how much better they were than UVA all those years. I'm not talking shit, because I have no room to do so.)

This year, the chickens have more obviously come home to roost. Their offense has always been better with a mobile QB, and Brewer isn't that. Might be time to give the kid from Christiansburg a shot.

That's definitely part of it. Two completely different situations.

Switched over from the World Series just in time to see Oregon's Charles Nelson cut back about 25 times on a punt return TD.

Ducks have 31 points and there's still 8 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Not gonna make the end of this one, so I'm going to guess 58-34 as the final score.

We'll see how I did when I wake up.
