Man ... I can't see any reason not to.

Between them, among the most non-descript BCS programs ever.

I get a kick out of the SEC clan describing the league schedule as some sort of minefield.

Exactly. As though the Big Ten or Big 12 or Pac-10 teams have such a cakewalk that they have just decided to challenge themselves for fun for the past 30 years.

Everybody else has a tough conference schedule, too. Everybody else plays some cupcakes. And, yes, everybody else schedules tough non-conference games.

We've been though this enough times, already. For the record, nearly EVERY SEC school plays at least one high-quality (or generally high quality or, at the very least, often high quality) nonconference foe each year.

Athlon's list of the top 10 nonconference games of the year (done before the season began, obviously)

    1. Virginia Tech at LSU
    2. USC (1) at Nebraska (18)
    3. Florida State (26) vs. Alabama (29)
    4. Tennessee (20) at California (11)
    5. USC (1) at Notre Dame (38)
    6. Georgia (16) at Georgia Tech (14)
    7. Florida State (26) at Florida (6)
    8. Texas A&M (23) at Miami (24)
    9. Georgia Tech (14) at Notre Dame (38)
    10. TCU (25) at Texas (2)

You'll note that FIVE of them include SEC schools.

  5. I made similar points on the poll thread. People say one thing but do another when they vote on the poll. Voters who have Ohio State ranked ahead of LSU are saying it's more important to simply stay unbeaten than to prove you are good against a tough schedule.

LSU's only loss is in triple overtime on the road against a team with more votes in the poll than any team Ohio State has played. People who vote Ohio State higher are not giving schools any incentive to schedule tough out-of-conference games.

    Yes, Mustard, we understand.

THE SEC IS THE GREATEST FOOTBALL CONFERENCE IN HISTORY, BETTER EVEN THAN THE MEDIOCRE NFL

Never said it. But I see you've been gathering straw again.

    That list proves what, exactly?

That someone was really excited for Texas A&M and Miami and Georgia Tech and Notre Dame?

No one is saying that the SEC isn't a good conference, just that it isn't the UNQUESTIONED TOUGHEST CONFERENCE EVERY SINGLE YEAR, and, what's more, that it's fair to note that SEC teams have a losing record when they play BCS teams outside the conference.

    Oh, I must have misinterpreted.

    I've only made two arguments:

    1. An SEC schedule is difficult enough that there's no reason to challenge yourself outside of conference.
    2. Despite that, nearly every SEC school plays at least one quality nonconference game.

FWIW, I'd like to see the full SEC vs. BCS conference schools list.

I've said my peace. Y'all can find your flamewar with some other SEC fanboy.

No flame war .. you are a blatant SEC homer/shill.
I sure hope you don't actually cover college football.
