Mississippi State also won at Auburn and at Kentucky this season.

Great job, Sly Croom. He's building something there, and he would be a great coach for a program with better resources.

And yes, the Bullies did kick the hell out of them by WestByGod. Those hillbillies can score on anyone, especially when White is healthy. Why most teams don't run the spread is beyond me, although I think it should be run with two quarterbacks. Tebow is built like a fullback, and even he is wearing down.

Another thing that I noticed late last night: Longshore's injury has just KILLED Cal. Not the same team at all.

    You know what I love?

The only thing we can all agree on is that Minnesota wouldn't beat anybody. ;)

Leave me out of that, Ty. We both had points. It's called debate.

We can also agree with Michigan keeping the Little Brown Jug, Wisconsin will keep Paul Bunyan's Ax, and Iowa's going to take Floyd back from Minny.

I almost forgot the Big Ten's trump card: Coolest trophies this side of Lord Stanley.

Seriously, who doesn't want to play for a Little Brown Jug?

That is waaaaaay too fucking misleading, and you know it.

If the pollsters didn't give the middling SEC teams a collective blow job every year, your argument holds no water. The Big East has to fight for each ranking it has; one loss, instant major drop. An SEC team loses, and it's "Oh, it's so tough every week. They're still a good team!"

    It's a double-standard and it sucks.

Not to mention the Floyd of Rosedale.

    And the David of Coverdale.

    Doc,

The pollsters? You realize they aren't just from the South, right?

I do, however, have no problem admitting that Big East teams have to fight harder to rise in the rankings (and suffer more when they lose).

I think West Virginia has been treated pretty fairly. I think USF is a little lower than it should be. I think Connecticut is a little higher than it should be.

At the same time, when Connecticut loses to Rutgers, it's going to have no right to bitch about being unranked. Because that schedule is monumentally weak.

I'll admit to being curious as to where you think the Big East teams should be ranked.

The SEC currently has three three-loss teams in the top 25. That is bullshit of the highest order. I don't give a fuck if teams beat up on each other every week in the SEC. If you have THREE losses through eight or nine games, you have no business being ranked.

I can throw my answer up on that.

I think West Virginia is one of the big boys, and will only get closer to the top. UConn at 7-1 can't be denied something from 18-25. South Florida, given its losses, belongs right below where UConn is.
