I guess the writer didn't know about those rumors.

I have no idea if there is an validity to the Carmody rumor, just happened to hear it as a possibility last night

Marshall has absolutely no need to go to USF. He can wait for another two weeks and get a better offer from a better school.

Andy Katz reporting on ESPN News that Tubby Smith is going to Minnesota.
Talk about another case of getting out ahead of the posse, but I am stunned...

Wow. A little surprising to say the least.

He could have gone to Utah (if the Utes were even an interest to him) and been a 25-win team every year. At Minnesota that'll be a rare feat.

The Washington AD said he wanted to create a "buzz" around the Huskies women's program again. I read that quote and thought, "Pokey."

I also can't see her coaching college again, esp. if it turns out she was dating the ex-player while the player was still on the team.

And I'm glad to see Rene gone.

    Cute.

Called this three pages ago. Interesting to see who they'll get.

Frank Burlison in the LB Press Telegram threw several names out, including former CS Fullerton head coach and current UCLA assistant Donny Daniels.

Given the three Big Ten jobs open at the moment, Minny would probably be my third choice.

I'm not sold on USF as a basketball wasteland. Seth Greenburg had it respectable when he was there. It's a quickly-growing school in a city without any other D-I schools and it's in a major conference. Remember, Virginia Tech was about at USF's level when it was in the Big East. The right coach, I'd think, can get that program competitive at some point.

But he'll have the least amount of pressure at Minnesota.
No one has won there since Clem Haskins had to cheat to win.
Ever since their Final Four team with Bobby Jackson, all their top recruits have been duds, save for Kris Humphries (and he only lasted one season).

And poor Dan Monson. Imagine if he would have stayed at Gonzaga. He'd own Spokane by now.
