It's being reported that Creighton coach Dana Altman will take the Arkansas job. The dean of MVC coaches could be on his way out. If true, it's a good hire for the Hogs.

Cross another guy off of Iowa's list.

But the CW was Arkansas fired Heath because of poor ticket sales and slumping donations. I don't know if the dean of the MVC will be enough to boost them.

Actually, cross him off the Iowa fans' list. I knew he would never come to Iowa City. But fucking Arkansas? With those kooks (Houston Nutt and the Springdale Mafia, and crazy ass Frank Broyles) down there, does he know that he's going to be in the spotlight??

Sure, nobody is going to pay a dime to watch Dana Altman coach, but the big-money cats will donate their first born and rent out their wives for sexual favors if he wins. That said, there should be some concern whether the Altman philosophy that didn't win at K-State will win at Arkansas.

Word is that Arkansas is also hiring Creighton's AD to be the new AD for the Piggies.
He'll be director of basketball operations at first and then take over for Broyles when he retires.

Uh, who is Creighton's AD? Marlin Perkins?

    Altman's preferred style is pressure.

He's leaving at the right time.

    Creighton's a good job. 16,000 fans a game? It'll get some looks.

I belive Altman and former Illinois State coach Porter Moser are good friends. I wonder if Altman will hire Moser as an assistant? Before IState, Moser was head coach at Arkansas-Little Rock, which is one of the ignored stepchildren in the U. of Arkansas system, for what that's worth, which isn't much, I know.

Belein, according to multiple reports, will decide by tonight whether to take the Michigan job.

I think a pretty solid argument could be made that Creighton is the best mid-major job in the country.
And the ADs name is Bruce Rasmussen.
Outing alert: I'm not Mark Schlabach, but he agrees with me. Even says Creighton isn't really a mid-major anymore because of the fanbase, money spent and success.

They don't have a football program, therefore they are a mid-major and always will be.
