If Marshall even THINKS about it, he had better be sure.

That thud you just heard was "West Virgina" basketball falling back into the second division of the Big East.

Flipping on CofC is one thing. WVU would be something different.

I'd say John Pelphrey gets a call to Morgantown. He may not get the job, but he deserves a look.

Oh, I guess. Lickliter will hang in there. Good Iowa hire. Hawk fans like tough defense and from-the-rafters shooting, always have, so Lickliter is a good fit.

Tubby can coach, but he's actually got to get guys to come to Minnesota. Michigan just bought itself a Final Four in next 5 years, because Beilen's offense and defense are NOT easy to play. You put some talent with that...

No doubt West Virginia is a bigger job that either CofC or South Florida. But as much as he's done to put Winthrop on the basketball map, some fans and friends of program have to be sick of the flirting. Is it natural at a place like Winthrop? Of course. But given Marshall's wandering eye, he does need to be wary, West Virginia or no.

We didn't have enough taco pizzas from Happy Joe's to satisfy Majerus.

Barta did his job: search for a coach who fits the program, embraces the community, and will do everything he can to recruit players. No, it doesn't mean that he should only get the Iowa kids. That's too many white boys. More importantly to me, from the Butler games I have seen, he can coach, which is something Alford was lacking in.

He'll get between $1.1 and $1.5 a year. Iowa was only going to go as high as $1.5 anyway. We don't have that many deep pockets unless they live in Des Moines. Iowa fans like tallking a good game about paying coaches, but are cheap when it comes to ticket prices. Secondly, the Board of Regents are being run by Michael Gartner (of NBC News fame), who thinks he's the king of Iowa and can dictate whatever the hell he wants done. Thirdly, Iowa doesn't have a school president yet, so the money talk will have to wait until a new prez is hired.

I like Lickliter and he'll be a good fit here. Iowa fans better STFU and stop whining about "big names." This program needs to win games consistently and without any drama queens placating Carver-Hawkeye (Alford and Pierre Pierce).

Speaking of homers, can any Arkies confirm that some TV reporters cheerleaders led the Hog call at the press conference announcing the Altman hiring and that it was broadcast as part of the station's coverage?
