Yikes, I guess it depends on his mood. I once saw a show with him where he just wanted to do his political stuff and there were all these slideshows of anti-nuke stuff on the monitors and, again, the audience was totally not into it. That wasn't a good show. I figure he must be getting laid a lot lately because all he seemed to want to talk about was women: former girlfriends, places he'd been with former girlfriends, etc. And he sang a lot of his love songs.

Best: The Tubes, 1981, The Forum, Harrisburg, Pa.

Worst: Can't think of anything really bad I've attended.

Last: Hall & Oates, 2008, Star Pavilion, Hershey, Pa.

Next: Chicago (also my first), next month, Luhrs Center, Shippensburg, Pa.

Jesus, has this post transported itself through time from around 1978 to land in this thread?

Had no clue either of these two bands were anywhere near being active and touring.

I think both groups have 1 remaining classic lineup member. The rest are dead.
Of course, it's not like they're on stadium tours. Both shows are at a biker bar.

I like Jackson Browne but I always got the feeling that he was the kind of guy who Rolling Stone would have had to invent if he didn't exist. The way guys like Dave March, Paul Nelson and Greil Marcus got all wet over him in the late-70s/early 80s comparing him to Seger and Springsteen. While he certainly had some high points musically, he never had the consistent productivity of the other two and despite featuring the awesome David Lindley in his band couldn't hold a candle to either on stage.

Good news: Bonnaroo is apparently getting the Webcast treatment - hope it measures up to Coachella's.
After watching AF's Coachella show and hearing the stream of Sunday night's Chicago show, I'm convinced they have entered the '68-'72 Stones, late '70s Springsteen, early '90s U2 league as a live act. If I can make enough money to ditch my job and get to New Brunswick July 30 to see them and U2 (final show of the 360 Tour)...that's a bucket list-level show.

Went over The Outlaws website to see what they're up to these days and found this:

    A Sad, Sad Day...
    Jan 13, 2011
It's with deep sadness we announce the passing of our old friend and fellow "Brother Of The Southland" Tommy Crain. On behalf of the Outlaws and all our families we extend our sincere sympathy to his wife Melissa, his mom and dad, brother Billy, sister Sherry, and the entire Crain family. Tommy was an incredible talent and the memories of our time together with him on the road and around his farm in Franklin will live in our hearts for a lifetime. "Big Foot" as he was affectionally referred to was an incredibly powerful force and his contribution to the CDB was legendary. Today the "Lonesome Boy From Dixie" went home.

    RIP, man could play.

Added Jim Suhler to the list for this summer. Ok, he's in George Thorogood's band, and I'm just hoping George lets him do a couple of songs.

Going to the Arcade Fire and The National in Indianapolis on Wednesday night. It's been moved from the The Lawn to the The Pepsi Coliseum, which sort of pisses me off. Acoustics in the Pepsi are gawdawful.

But it's my two favorite bands on one stage, so I can't complain.

My brother and I left the St. Pete Bluefest a few years back because we couldn't take more than about three Thorogood songs. Seeing Dave Mason earlier made up for it, though.

I had a friend who saw Frank Zappa there sometime late 70s, early 80s, and he said Zappa was absolutely, pleasantly floored he was playing next to a building called "Swine Barn."

In the past month I've seen LCD Soundsystem, John Zorn, Amon Amarth, Eddie Spaghetti (twice) and Sleigh Bells. I'm driving to San Antonio tomorrow to see Amon Amarth again. Coming up: Mogwai, Twilight Singers, Melvins (two nights) and another Sleigh Bells show.
