Yeah, a little Thorogood goes a long way, but he did produce two of the greatest blues-rock songs of the early 80s: I Drink Alone and It Wasn't Me (which I believe was a cover).

Up next, wife and I are headed to both Sundays at the N.O. Jazzfest. The first Sunday, the main attraction is Arlo Guthrie (our first date was an Arlo show), plus we may try to catch a little of John Mellencamp. The second Sunday is the Radiators Jazzfest Farewell. They're retiring after 33 years of Fishhead Music.

Mason is part of the Hippiefest show I am going to see. I hope he gets more than two/three songs.

"If I told them once, I told them 1,000 times. It's Molly Hatchet first, $2 jello shots second."

I was in Annapolis on Saturday and saw Wishbone Ash was playing a small venue there. As a lover of '70s rock, that shocked me. I had no idea they still existed (although it's probably just an original member or two).

So now I go looking for the Molly Hatchet website and I find that Danny Joe Brown is a long time gone. Had no idea.

    RIP, Danny Joe

Also added another show to the summer list: Trombone Shorty.

I had some fun with Fenian in a past life going back and forth with Wishbone Ash references. Saw them and Robin Trower at the Met Center, home of the North Stars.

    RIP, North Stars.

I have them on 8-track, LP and an autographed CD a friend gave me from a show two years ago. I'm out of town when they come through here, otherwise I was going to go with said friend and a few others. Relive the old days.

I'm thinking about seeing Sleigh Bells in June.

When I was in high school in the early 70s, Wishbone Ash was absolutely my favorite rock band. Me, my brother and my best friend were the biggest Bone freaks in our little town. Their first four albums still sound pretty good to me, but that could just be nostalgia talking.

That's when I'll be seeing them. On a farm in Tennessee.

Best: George Michael Faith Tour 1988 MSG, unbelievable electricity and a pumped up crowd who knew all the words to those catch tunes. Also, Live Aid Philly.

Worst: Jackson Brown Meadowlands Arena 1983. Like watching a zombie sing. Good music though.

Last: Gilad Bloom Band, small bar in NYC. Okay.

Next: Down at Best Buy theater NYC tomorrow night and Sat. night in NJ. Used to hate metal but this guy Phil Anselmo is the Muhammad Ali of stage generals.

You're saying your best was George Michael and your worst was Jackson Browne? Just checking. Seriously????
