The last two shows I saw were Shovels & Rope at my favorite venue in town and then Vampire Weekend at a cool outdoor venue. Shovels & Rope was awesome. Vampire Weekend was just okay. They didn't change up their arrangements much and it was basically like paying to listen to their albums with a cool light show.

My next show is Janelle Monae. I'm incredibly excited for that.

Will be seeing Avenged Sevenfold in a few weeks. Looking forward to that. Anyone seen them before?

Saw Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt last night.

Just the two of them, on stage together with acoustic guitars. Great show, bad picture.

Man, that's a shame. Sounded like a great bill, in a small theater. Have you been since it was restored.

This sounds like a great show too:

Pearl Jam last night. Amazing. Honestly not sure if I'll ever see a show that tops it. McCready was amazing, Eddie was Eddie, Matt Cameron is amazing, and the crowd was just incredible. Got to hear Animal, In Hiding, Satan's Bed (a rock concert isn't a rock concert until the crowd yells the word "dick" in unison), Black, Alive, their Baba O'Riley cover, Yellow Ledbetter, Wishlist, Even Flow, Small Town with the crowd singing along (like they did with a lot of the songs)...so many great songs in the 30-plus song set list. And as much as I thought Jeremy would come across as played out if I ever saw it live, it was pretty amazing.

Plus, Vedder joking about his "Oklahoma City Fuckers" comment and Jeff Ament donning a Kevin Durant Supersonics jersey was awesome. An awesome night.

Back in September, saw Keith Urban, Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch at the Hollywood Bowl. I'm not a country music fan, but a good friend of mine is, so we went.

Keith Urban puts on quite a show. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

That close to Norman they should have given Mookie Blaylock a shoutout.

They did lol. Talked about using his name when they first started touring. Seemed like a bunch of the crowd had no idea who Blaylock was or that he had a connection to the state until Vedder mentioned OU right at the end, then they cheered. Gotta love OU fans who don't know the school's history.

Give 'em a break. He may have led them to the national championship game, but it was just basketball. Not like he was one of Switzer's third-string tight ends or anything.

Yes, by all means, the guy with six DUIs who is facing vehicular manslaughter charges after he wrecked and killed a woman while driving with a suspended license deserves to be remembered fondly by Sooner fans.

Not saying he's a good guy, just saying it shows where OU basketball stands on the pecking order if people at the show hadn't heard of him or didn't get the connection.
