Or is he a pawn, spreading disinformation?

As somebody said (I think on here) the fact guys like that aren't murdered or killed in mysterious ways proves their theories are bunk. If the evil forces are willing to kill 20 kids to get gun control, then they'd kill him telling people that was the plan all along.

Entourage had to go off the air to keep it all from coming out.

I got into an argument with some Sandy Hook truthers about Robbie Parker. They think that his smiling and laughing before the press conference means he's faking. They also think that the fact that the guy started a memorial site for his daughter means his a con artist. I think those things prove nothing and Parker and all the other victims' families are out of bounds for any criticism.

Here are a few of the things I say and there responses. Do I get any facts wrong? Are there any holes in my logic? Why am I not winning this argument?

Me: When people are accusing some of the victims' parents of being actors and saying their kids didn't really get killed, you can't get much more disrespectful than that.

Truther: How many weeks have YOU spent dedicating yourself to finding the Truth about the Sandy Hook shooting? ... Yeah, I thought so. Buzz off.

Another truther: I don't think they are ALL actors, but Robbie "No Tears" Parker and "Creepy Gene" Rosen can kiss my ass.

Another truther: I haven't accused anyone of anything other than not providing facts and evidence. Simple as that. The actors angle is just a theory of some. I just want some hard evidence. The media has not provided us with one shred o evidence. They create this mess. You want to know who is disrespecting the families? It's the media and whoever is purposefully withholding info or flat out lying about what happened.

Me (responding to the second truther): People experience grief differently. Is it really that hard to understand? Robbie Parker experienced the worst thing a parent could possibly experience. Gene Rosen did an incredbily decent thing and this is what they get for it? Yes, you are being incredibly disrespectful.

The second truther: Grow up. I feel sorry for you. I'm not even just trying to seem patronizing, I literally feel sorry for you.

Yet another truther: Your (sic) a dumbass. Don't come here accusing people of being disrespectful to these poor sad families (lol) when we have reasonable evidence to assume we're being lied too. That being said, these families are no longer victims but actually con-artists, so don't try and guilt me into silence.

Me: All you have is "It looks like Robbie Parker is taking his daughter's death just a little too well." And that's based on a 10-second clip. What do you know about it? People experience grief differently. Maybe somebody said something to him that brought back a good memory of his daughter. Maybe it was nervous laughter because he's not used to public speaking. The man lost his daughter for God's sake. Have you no decency?

Another truther: Maybe if you have to make up an excuse for everything that happened, the whole thing is a big lie.

Truther: hahaha are we ready?" *breathes heavy and gets into character* yeah that makes a LOT OF SENSE! Show me proof his daughter died and I will apologize for ever questioning anything, but I'm sorry, he didn't come off as a grieving father...especially since he jumped on the "we have a donation site" bandwagon within 12 hrs.
Truther: acting lesson 101 , hypervent yourlself first then answer a question ...

who cares what these people think? They are powerless to effect or affect anyone's life in any way. As we have seen with other morons, once you attempt to treat them as if they matter and show them what they ask for, they just deny what they don't want to see.

    Why do they matter?

I'd only have one thing to say to those clowns: "You are all full of shit." Then walk away.

"Only to fucking morons, which I am not. Are you?"

That's my customary response to some family members who have forwarded that shit to me.

Someone told me today they think a cure for cancer has been found, but the people with the charities are keeping it quiet so they can get rich off the fund raising.

    Heyabbott,
It just deeply offends me that people think a guy who lost his daughter is fair game.

Conspiracy theories represent a flaw in human cognition. You cannot talk people out of them. The more proof you present that they are wrong, the stronger they will cling to the belief. It's called the "backfire effect."

Aquaman is a crappy super hero, but he'd be a shoo-in for Employee of the Month at Sea World.

That's plausible except for the fact that folks with the cure for cancer would get richer.

-The characters in Spongebob Squarepants represent the seven deadly sins...they also are supposed to be the nuclear mutant remnants of the Soviet Bikini Island experiment.
-All the Rugrats babies are really dead and Angelica keeps them alive in her imagination.
-Ed, Edd and Eddy is really Purgatory for children

There are so many cartoon conspiracy theories that are actually pretty fun to think about. The worst has to be the Handy Manny one. This is from a message board...I know it is proper form to post the link, but it is buried in a thread and you probably would not find it for awhile. It is from www.pokecommunity.com (besides, I think this particular poster ripped this theory off, anyway):

"I have a theory about Handy Many on Disney:

Manny was a decent guy with a wife and some kids who had gotten a job as a handyman in Sheetrock Hills after he and his family moved there. Manny was good at his job, while he didn't make a whole lot of money he was able to save a lot by building most of his house himself and doing all of the upkeep and whatnot for free.

One day while Manny was out working, there was an electrical fire in the house due to bad wiring and the house burned down, killing Manny's wife and children. Manny blamed himself and suffered a psychotic break.

Eventually Manny was released from the mental hospital and went to his workshop to find his toolbox and tools, a gift from his family when he became a handyman and the only memento he had of them. To Manny's surprise, his tools begin speaking to him and moving around the workshop. Manny realizes he doesn't have to be alone anymore because his tools are his friends. Manny forgets he ever had a family, replacing them with his beloved tools.

The other people in the town play along with Manny's madness because he was a decent guy and they feel bad for him, when he starts waving his tools around and speaking in different voices they react to the tools as if they were alive because they don't want to remind Manny of his loss.

This is why Manny is only ever called for very easy jobs like fixing one wooden stair or replacing a bar on a baby crib; the people don't trust Manny to do anything more difficult. It is also why Kelly gives Manny whatever supplies he needs without asking him for any money. Mr. Lowpart pretends to be a bumbling moron, but he actually makes sure Manny has enough to eat and that all of his bills are paid on time, since Manny is too busy playing with his tools to take care of things like this.
