How does one get to be a professor without any critical thinking skills?

I think your car breakdowns and auto loans are a conspiracy by the Freemasons and the house of Rothschild to destabilize our highways.

I hope UMD understands the damage this guy does to the school's image. Who wants to pay tuition to have this nut teaching your kid?

  8. He's retired now. Besides 9/11, he also believes Cheney, Rove, and Rumsfeld ordered the death of Sen. Paul Wellstone to enable the Republicans to take control of the Senate.

I took a class from one of the 9/11 Scholars for Truth professors (several years before 9/11). He didn't seem like a kook then.

My stock answer about these conspiracies and why they can't be true is that they require hundreds, thousands or maybe even 10s of thousands of people to know what really happened and they all have to never say a word about it as long as they live.
Human nature being what it is, that's not likely to happen. It's been 11 years since 9/11 and almost 18 years since the Oklahoma City bombing and nobody has spilled the beans. There have been no deathbed confessions. Nobody has gotten drunk and shot their mouth off about what really happened. Nobody has had a crisis of conscience and decided he'd come clean regardless of what might happen to him.
Besides, if any of these conspiracy theorists were really on to something, they'd be dead. If the government isn't above killing a bunch of 6-year-olds, it certainly isn't above killing anyone who knows they killed them.
