I'm thinking there's a Ted Williams joke in there somewhere, but not sure of the details.

Researchers conducting this kind of work take precautions to ensure outbreaks don’t occur, and the creatures that come back to life from the frozen ground often don’t live long enough for containment issues to be much of a concern anyway.

This is what pisses me off about modern super science. You know all of these assholes have read or are familiar with all of the major science fiction stories in which zombies, machines, viruses, etc., get loose and run amok.
    So what do they do?
Experiment with zombies, machines, viruses, etc., to advance them to the point where they can get loose and run amok. All while knowing full damn well what the potential consequences are because it's literally been the subject of every fucking science fiction work for the last 75 years.
    Buncha assholes.

This was weird news to me. I remember being taught in elementary school, in the 1980s, that the Antarctic/Southern Ocean was a thing. I might have been in college or later when I found out it wasn't.

I'm sorry ... I was taught "Sailing the 7 Seas" ... and now I feel cheated with only 5 oceans.

Someone has come up with a better way to store spent nuclear fuel. The first part of this video is about Finland's big new reactor, 15% of the country's total energy demand. The really interesting part pops up at 5:00 or so. Far easier to watch than to describe.
