another one bites the dust ... female full-timer that's been there 13 years gave notice last Friday ... paginating staff down to four ... but of the four, one may be giving 2-weeks notice on Wed. Bracy is really the captain of a sinking ship now ... glug, glug, glug!

  3. The Trentonian is a cruel and inhumane place to work. Anyone who buys the newspaper is supporting a company that mentally tortures its employees.

True, but they are also supporting the mentally-tortured employees so they can at least remain employed while they look for new jobs.

WARNING: Stay away from the Trentonian...This is a honest message to someone applying for a job there. Don't ...They take advantage of you every way possible. From demeaning you to overworking you, it's non-stop crap. And God forbid you're in sports and make one mistake...you're toast. If you're in the sub-par news section, mistakes are expected and they leave you alone. The sports' full-staff has lost 4 full-timers and an excellent part-timer, who they refused to promote, in the last six months. The staff that remains is worked even harder. Trust me...STAY AWAY

The Trentonian, Marietta, Martinsville. When will these places get the message?

No, it's really not strange. Sometimes the people who complain the most are the people who do the least when it comes to looking for a better job. Some people are afraid of change, and I think newspaper people are more afraid of change than most people. Also, when people work 60 hours at a place, they get to see less of the outside world and talk to fewer people, so they tend to lose touch.
