Who knows? Maybe the Brewers will go 10-20 over their next 30 games ... so the Cubs will be able to gain another 1.5 games in the standings. ;)

Gordon seems to get a lot of garbage-time production.

Interesting, I've never really paid attention so I can't say for sure, but he has raised his average nearly 60 points this month. I'd say in that regard, it's tough to get all garbage-time production. But for the Royals and their pitching, there really isn't much garbage time. No lead is ever safe.

Less than 275 ABs into his career and you're theorizing he's all about garbage time? OK then.

His splits are interesting, albeit in a small statistical sample (thank you baseball-reference.com):
    Tie game: .346
    Within 1 run: .275
    Within 2 runs: .252
    Within 3 runs: .250
    Within 4 runs: .243
Margin 4 runs or more: .220

    Nicely done, BYH.

Simon...I believe you've been pwned. (I've never had the chance to use that one. hehe).

Gordon is looking every bit the prize rookie everybody expected....just took him a couple of months. Not so surprising since he completely skipped AAA. Teahen, Gordon, Shealy and Butler could be a VERY good heart of the order for a very long time...or at least until the Royals can't afford them any more.

That's what I'm hoping will change. If the Royals were going to continue to be a feeder team for the fucking Mets, Yankees and Red Sox, then I think, I hope Moore wouldn't have taken the job.

What the Glass family should have realized from 2003, and will realize if the team isn't buried by the end of April, is that Kansas City is DYING.... DYING, I SAY for winning baseball. That stadium will be fucking nuts all summer if the Royals have something to play for.

Scott Schoeneweis, Scott Proctor ... Triple a awaits. (Of course, I know it won't happen but it sure seems like that's where each belongs, doesn't it?)

And I repeat my question ... Has Schoeneweis had a good performance this season?

At least Proctor has the excuse of being trotted out there every damn day since the start of 2005. What's Schoneweiss' excuse?

Schoeneweis has a severed tendon in his hamstring. That sounds like something you shouldn't even be able to walk with, so I cut him some slack for his suckitude. The real question to me is, why do the Mets insist on pitching him? The guy should be on the DL.

If he has a severed tendon in his hamstring, then put him on the permamently disabled list...get him the fuck out of here.
    He flat out sucks.

And yes, Casty, Schoenweis has had two or three outings in which he pitched one perfect inning, when the Mets were 10 runs behind. He's a great mop up man.
