Very, very well, starting with his near no-no against the Padres.

Marmol obviously has the stuff to be a closer, but he's unlikely to get the ball in every day, even before Dempster comes off the disabled list. The question, as always with that position, is if he has the mentality to endure the pressure.

    Damian Miller? 3-run walk-off?

The Brewers have sold their souls to the devil for the pennant.

Marmol definitely has electric stuff, but Dempster has done NOTHING to lose his job this season. The future of the Cubs’ bullpen would look REALLY good if they weren’t the Cubs.

The Cubs need to bring out the broom for the third consecutive series this weekend when the Brewers come to Wrigley for three games.

    Two big hurdles.

    1. They’re the Cubs.
    2. The Brewers signed a deal with the devil for this season.

The Royals own the better teams in the AL.

The Yankees in 2005, the Red Sox last year, the Angels this year.

Not me. Especially when LA rapped out 10 hits. If KC can somehow win this weekend's series against the Sox... so long, last place.

    Non-Cubs fans still don't understand.

UPDATE: Leather is doing the Mets/Cards game on the WWL. I'm muting it for Rooney and Shannon on the radio dial.

Holy @#$@#$@. Ryan Howard just cleared the batter's eye at CBP. I know he's bounced one off the top of it before, but I think that's the first time it's been cleared on the fly.

The very consistent Carmona got shelled in 1+ today by the A's. ... Hi Hank!

Anyone see ESPN's intro with Berman, Orel and Phillips? Berman was sweating to the point where his hair was soaked. Poor bastard. I know he's a sweater to begin with, but that NE heat couldn't have helped.
