Well, I guess a 5-0 first inning isn't the worst thing ever.

    It could be 6-0.

It’s early, and the wind appears to be blowing out, though I’m working and watching the game with no sound. He will get the win, but he’ll probably give up some runs.

Nope. It's blowing in from center at 10 mph. Lee just hit one deep but didn't carry ... Mench was able to muscle it the other way because it was pretty much a line shot.

Weird. Looked liked Mench's got help.

All of Mench's home runs are line drives. He did the same thing in college, but hit 460 foot ropes.

Proof that J.D. Durbin of the Phillies is truly awful: It is only the fifth inning and Carlos Delgado is a triple short of hitting for the cycle.

J.D. Durbin was horrible in AAA, so why do they call him up? I have no idea.

Six earned runs in 4 2/3. I think he fits right in on that staff. And he lowered his ERA to 21.94.

Chris Coste just hit a solo shot in his first AB since being recalled from Reading. He hit .328 last year as a rookie. Carlos Ruiz is hitting .281 this year. And yet, Pat Gillick found it necessary to spend $2.5 million in the offseason on Rod "Sweep Tag" Barajas.

I believe Rod Barajas' nickname is "Ole"
