A final in the Bronx: Oakland 7, Yanks 0.

Mets leading the phloundering Phils, 3-0, in the first. Runners on first and third for the N.L. East leaders, one out, and Shawn Green at bat.

Ryan Howard takes NL East champion New York starter Jorge Sosa damn near into the third deck at CBP.

Apparently, the Red Sox called up uber-prospect Jacoby Ellsbury to start in tonight's game.

From the No Shit Department, Fuentes is at least temporarily out at the Rockies' closer after blowing four consecutive save chances.

Potential replacements include LaTroy Hawkins and Jorge Julio. I can't believe that those two dipshits still have jobs anywhere in baseball, especially on the same team. That's fucking hilarious. Young hard-thrower Manny Corpas might get the job, too.

I can get them a GREAT deal on Joe Table. Or Geoff Geary. Or Yoel Hernandez. You get the drift.

Beat out an infield single in the third. Holy crap — the kid's as fast as Ichiro, if not faster.

Seriously, what is it with closers? You bring in a guy with a one-run lead and he does fine, but have him come in during a non-save situation and he shits the bed. They must be the most psychologically fragile people alive.

I was referring to Wickman today, but it seems to happen to a lot of closers. It's like if they don't have that pressure, they can't perform.

    Thank you, Tyler Yates!
