It's amazing how much better Aramis Ramirez has become defensively, bum knee be damned. If he keeps this up, he's a bargain at that price and one of the best third basemen in the game. This run started when he came back from the DL.

WooHoo, Yankees are only three games under .500.

  4. Bases loaded, bottom 7, Phils already down 4-3, 3-2 count, and Shane Victorino dives into the stands after a foul ball and just misses. How does Brian Sanches reward his teammate's effort? Walk. Fucking amazing.

The Astros bullpen is exploding, again, though the Phillies still might come up short.

One of these days everyone will realize that Jorge Julio is just not a Major League pitcher, regardless of how hard he throws. He sucks.

Wish I was, too. Two great pitchers, young potential stars all over the field and the weather look great.

Smoltz dropped down and threw a three-quarter fastball at 94 last inning, too. Old man's still got game.

    about 16

That was a wild guess and if I just counted right on bb-ref, it is indeed 16

Edit again: I counted wrong it is not 16

So, who still thinks the Yankees are headed to the playoffs? I made mention weeks ago to wait and see where they are right before the all-star break thanks to some tough opponents and a nice road trip. We're not there yet, but I have to assume that optimism of a couple weeks ago has faded somewhat ...
