Corriendo beisbol estring numero seis (because 46 pages on No. 5 was enough ...)

HB is right and it's a well-recognized and accepted tradition. Listen to Mel Allen, Phil Rizzuto, Bob Murphy et.al. Now, some did it with class. And then there's Vin Scully, who didn't do it at all, at least not openly recognizable.

Oh my goodness gracious ... !!!

100 percent correct. They are broadcasters paid by said teams ... I don't see anything wrong with that. Plus, it's always funny to hear Hawk Harrelson go into funeral-mode when the Sox are getting their butts kicked.

I'm pretty sure Scully was beating the drum for Russell Martin the past month or two. That said, he did it graciously and without bombast. Having seen as much baseball as any man alive, he doesn't get worked up about too much.

And, ya know, Russ Martin is awesome.

Ladies and gentleman, Julio Lugo got a hit. Snaps an 0-for-31 (June 14 last hit).

Lefty going for the Royals, John McLaren selects Jose Vidro (switch-hitter) to play first for the M's while Broussard (lefty) sits. Any comments re Vidro on first from the knowledgeable? (Sexson is day-to-day with a thumb contusion.)

Ibanez (lefty), coming off a tweaked hammy, DH's while Bloomquist plays left. [Other solution would have been to start Ellison in left and let Bloomquist play first. Ibanez or Vidro then becomes the DH.]

McLaren's tenure is off to an interesting start.

Was Capuano on a pitch count or did he get into too much trouble in the fourth? Why did he last only 3 1-3 innings?

And why did Gallardo come out of the pen? I thought he was starting for the Brewers.

Bottom first, 6-0 Kansas City. DeJesus starts game with a line drive off Seattle pitcher, and then it goes single, single, bases-loaded walk, garbage-time sac fly from Alex Gordon, three-run blast by Billy Butler, solo home run Jason LaRue.

    Still only one out.

Yep. Young master Feierabend has quickly rendered all interest in the M's lineup moot.

Gallardo was moved to the pen when Capuano came off the DL. He could move back into the rotation at the expense of Bush or Suppan.

They are trying to keep his innings down (for now) since he's never thrown that much in the past over a season.
