Is there a reason the Phils aren't bunting this inning? Aside from general dumbassery.

One pitch from Jose Mesa = ballgame.

I saw that as well, and that's the right move. Butler's still 21... way too young to just give up on the defensive aspect of things.

It's just my gut feeling that Sweeney will get moved.

Where did this guy come from? I have never heard of him. Has he been in the Yankees system for a long time or was he received in a trade?

Ramirez was in an independent league last year after being released by the Angels. Yanks siogne dhim for minor league contract in the winer. He struck out 47 in 26 2/3 Inns. at S/WB this season before call-up.

He's like 6-1 and 110 pounds .. when he pitcvhes from the sretch, you can see him he's so damn skinny.

Well, that would explain why I had never heard of him.
So, if he was pitching in independent ball last season is he just a one-hit wonder or is he a late-bloomer?

I guess we'll soon find out.

YANKEE TRIVIA: Last Yankee pitcher to strike out the side in his first major league inning (as Ramirez did tonight)?
