Didn't the Red Sox lose an 18-inning game the day before the All-Star break a year ago?

I hate the Phillies so much. I saw them losing 6-3 and I just don't want to know how bad they lost.

6-3, Mayfly. After scoring 3 in the top of the first and then sucking for 8 innings.

I just can't figure Carlos Beltran. After going hitless with some of the worst at bats you can imagine, he singles in the go-ahead run in the top of the 17th. And, of course, he climbed that stupid center-field hill in Petco to make an incredible catch earlier. Just when I want to rip the guy, he wins a game that looked like a sure loser.

Okay, they all look alike to these old eyes.

That's how I remember Beltran with the Royals. He can be like that.

Brad Ausmus caught all 17 innings for the Stros last night and he's back behind the plate today!

Substitute "Ervin Santana on the road" for "Carlos Silva" and the sentence is still true.

Continuing in the distinguished tradition of Mets emergency starters like Jose Lima, Chan Ho Park and Jason Vargas, Dave Williams has surrendered 7 runs in 3 1/3 innings to the Astros so far. The Mets' bullpen is gassed after last night's 17-inning game, so apparently they're going to let Williams take his ass-whuppin' until his pitch count reaches 200 or his arm spontaneously combusts, whichever comes first.
