Who has more to deal? I mean the Yankees could go out and get Jose Canseco, since they are going older these days.

  2. So the Yanks best hope is to catch the Indians for the wild card. They better hope Pronk doesn't wake up.

The Yankees will be catching whatever AL Central team falls into the card near the end of the season. I think it will be the Indians.

Let's honestly think about this. What prospects do the Yankees and Sox have to give, and what teams would require them, or there major league talent. Who is on the block from the respective teams?

Well, Baseball America ranked the Yankees system as 7th best in the majors entering the season. I am not sure where the Sox were ranked, but it seems like the Yanks have a lot more to deal than in years past.

I read somewhere, allegedly, Konerko is on the block and the Yanks need a 1B, but that is probably a pipe dream.

I'd honestly rather the Yankees stand pat and see if they can put together a magical run, and save their young pitching for years to come.

Gillick has been hinting about something up his sleeve to bring in either a pitcher or another bat (I hope not)...we'll see soon.

  8. The Sox have to be hesitant about trading away any young studs. Every time they see Hanley Ramirez, they have to be saying, "What the hell were we thinking?"

    Anibal Sanchez too.

They were thinking, "Hey, we got an ace in Josh Beckett and a solid third baseman in Mike Lowell. That wasn't such a bad trade, especially since Ramirez has an NL-high 15 errors and Sanchez just blew out his arm."

They were only thinking that this year. Last year fans were about to hang Lowell and Beckett in protest.

I will be interested to see how Marte plays out in comparison to Crisp, especially with how well Renteria is working out in Atlanta and how much Lugo sucks.
