Corriendo beisbol estring numero seis (because 46 pages on No. 5 was enough ...)

  1. Damnit, forgot Beckett was in that deal. I was thinking it was Lowell and someone else. I'm stoopid.

Cause they already had Chipper Jones at third?

Oh, I understand that line of thought. But Crisp hasn't exactly been lights out in Boston, so it could work to their detriment unless they pick up a solid first baseman and move Youkilis back to third.

  4. So where will Griffey be playing in August?

Crisp is a defensive step-up from Damon, but the offense is lacking to say the least. To say the most, he has been worse than Jones' splatter.

Marte plays 3B, so unless he was injured, I don't see a reason why they would give up on him because he wouldn't be starting for ages with Chipper manning the luke-warm corner.

He has better range, but his arm is just as bad as Damon's. And despite Damon struggling this year, Crisp is nowhere near the hitter Damon is, despite being quite a bit younger.

Red Sox could have saved themselves a lot of trouble by re-signing Orlando Cabrera after the World Series, thus avoiding the Edgar Renteria/Alex Gonzalez/Julio Lugo revolving door at shortstop.

Marte compared to Crisp, at least at the moment, looks fairly one-sided toward the Red Sox.

They could have brought up the fellow named Hanley Ramirez after letting Cabrera go.
