I think the instructor/student stuff is, or at least was, new information.

Sorry, but there shouldn't be the hint of joking when anyone dies. Sarcasm shouldn't have any place in this thread.

If the Yankees were still playing, this wouldn't have happened.
    I blame A-Rod.

Gammons opines that the games should still be played (weather permitting.)

He also noted that Lidle was a replacement player (a la Kevin Millar and Rick Reed), which I forgot about.

Also was most recently in the news when Art Rhodes lit into him (post-trade) as someone who only wanted to play internet poker, eat ice cream and fly his plane.

Enough of the fucking potshots and Super Fredo swooping in to save NYC again.

We all know this is serious shit and I just logged in to check email and ran across this.

Not good. Not good. Prayers to Cory's family and the Yankees and Phillies.

Next-of-kin not notified yet because apparently his wife is on a plane to California.

Lidle is/was also a former Toronto Blue Jay. RIP Cory and whoever else has died.

    Wow.

    I'm stunned.

Did they postpone the Astros game when Darryl Kile died?

I absolutely understand the Cardinals postponement that night.

I hope whichever airline she's on will keep her from learning about this from an overzealous TV crew.
