Not a board tough guy, but I know one thing I want him to do...I want him to publicly state that he has changed his mind about the drastic reductions to the military he recently announced. I want him to look at how Reagan "won" the Cold War, and see if he can use those tactics. Maybe if we weren't so far in debt that we'll never get out we could actually commit the necessary resources to our military.

Also, in the first page people were talking about the Ukraine not having an agreement with other nations for mutual defense...what about the Budapest Memorandum signed by Bill Clinton in 1994? Could that be considered a mutual defense treaty?

I am in the middle of re-reading "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich." Right now I am at the beginning of the invasion of Poland. This is eerily similar.

The same amount as his predecessor. And we know how that turned out.

I agree with you...they were and are both huge failures.

Does that agreement cover the Crimea, which is an autonomous republic?

That is what I am not sure about...is Crimea actually the Ukraine or not? They are protected by the Ukrainian military, but it just might be bases. I honestly don't know the answer.

Obama should pull Cheney out of mothballs and send him to the table. That might pull the smirk off Putin's face. Especially when Cheney invites him to a quail hunt.

Everything plays out differently. The events leading up to "this" may have never happened.

I have no idea if it would be officially part of it or not. And I think the answer you'd get in Ukraine would be different than one you get in Crimea.

Putin, as far as we know, has never initiated anything like Operation RYAN
