Total U.S. soldiers killed in World War II: About 405,000

    http://www.va.gov/opa/publications/factsheets/fs_americas_wars.pdf

Total of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq since war began March 19, 2003: 4,489
Total number of them killed after "Mission Accomplished: 4,347
    The difference: 151

Meaning that more than 30 times the number of soldiers were killed in Iraq AFTER the war was declared over by our president. Had that happened in WWII, that would have meant 1.2 million soldiers would have died in the aftermath of the official war. Somehow, I don't think that happened. Shit, we supposedly dropped a couple of bombs in Japan to avoid that from happening to begin with.

First, Obama sent more troops in to clean up Bush's mess. Second, Obama never declared the war in Afghanistan to be over.

Hilarious coming from the dipshit who actually tried to use the Dow as a referendum on Obama when it was dropping. How's that looking now, tony?

I'm still waiting on board conservatives to come up with an answer on how this Ukrainian situation should be handled differently besides going to war or using worthless slogans.

Get some of these darn TV networks to sponsor it. Seems they have more money than they know what to do with, seeing how they keep blowing billions on sports rights fees.

At this point nothing. It's too late. The answer lies in what should have been done
before it got to crisis level. We know that Obama did not accept the idea that
Russia was a major geo-political problem so no reason to think that he would have
anticipated the problem unless he happened to read Tom Clancy's final book.

It's not an American problem. Any more than it's a Canadian or Mexican problem.

Send some diplomats and talk over coffee. Boycott the Paralympics or G-20 summit. Other than that, stay out.

Two U.S. senators never should have gone there to lend support to the protest, for starters.

How the fuck do you think we would react if there was a pro-Russia movement in, say, Mexico, trying to take over that government and Russian politicians were there to fuel the flames?

“To all Ukraine, America stands with you,” McCain said.

No, you don't. My Ukrainian-born wife wishes for once you'd just butt out of other nations' business.

John McCain seems to be a relatively nice person, but he's an idiot. Short sighted and for a long serving US Senator with Presidential ambitions rather uninformed and shallow. A terrible pilot who should never have been allowed in combat in the first place, he was most honorable when the best amongst would not have been, but that shouldn't compel the country to listen to him. OTOH the dunces that pass for elected heavy weights in this country, all political persuasions, is embarrassing.
