The Newsweek article on Bush was about how he wasn't a wimp, despite what the Republican challengers were whispering about him.

Is he not the Commander in Chief? What do you think would be going on on such a thread if it were, say, 2006"

If this had happened in 2006, few people of any ideological persuasion in this country would've noticed, because we had our own wars going on, which quite properly were people's foreign policy concerns. When Russia invaded Georgia in 2008, Bush got next door to no flak, because nobody cared except maybe McCain.

That and Bush had an R next to his name, which means talk radio didn't tell people to be outraged by his inaction.

IIRC, Georgia started the day of the Beijing Olympics and we were deep into a presidential campaign.

In '06, everyone who criticized the Commander in Chief would be called unpatriotic.

    And ... CUT AND RUN!!!!

4,000+ soldiers died in Iraq because if we left, the world would think we would be CUTTING AND RUNNING!!!

Go ask the families of those soldiers if they would prefer having their loved ones back and the world thinking America CUTS AND RUNS!!! or not.

I seem to see a lot of partisan politics being discussed on this thread.
I might have to notify one of my moderator friends.

I'm actually surprised we've lasted this long. But happily surprised.

Though your moderator friends/enemies/red asses are watching/reading/observing. Like the NSA. You just don't know when they'll step in.
