Living in Southern California, I can tell you almost all Mexicans care about the United States. They also care about Mexico, just like Irish immigrants in New York care about Ireland and Jews care about Israel.

There are many people in the Ukraine who speak Russian and are Russian. Some of that was because Russians moved people into the Ukraine during the Soviet Union era.

Plus, the Grenada invasion happened mere days after the Beirut barracks bombing. Reagan, facing re-election in just over one year, needed a "gimme" military victory. It was hardly that as we lost 19 servicemen and the cleanup took almost two months, but the Gipper got us feelin' good again.

Nothing on this today, I see.
Not like it's major world news or anything.
Too busy dissecting what some brain-dead jackass said at the Oscars.
What a sad and stupid country we are.
    We deserve everything we get.

You can discuss. It's when it goes off the rails that there becomes a major issue. This obviously has not.

Meanwhile, AP alert says the Russians have issued an ultimatum for the surrender of two Ukrainian warships in Crimea.

As heard on the news this morning with some paraphrasing, while American conservatives are quick to call President Obama pussy-in-chief, the fear of Obama in Russia is wide and deep.

Putin, among many others, is convinced that the spread of American culture and values is a threat and that Obama has no problem ordering assassinations and sending military squads into sovereign countries to kidnap or kill people designated as enemies.

And since his military, under his command, has done all those things, it isn't a very hard sell.

Russia vs Ukraine is like Alabama going up against Charleston Southern. Highlights
the flaw in the way super powers are ranked these days.

You know, if it's not the national championship of wars, Charleston Southern stands a chance.

    Putin is an ex-KGB operator.
Obama is an ex-"community organizer" who has basically never held a real job in his life.
You tell me whose chest-pounding is more credulous.

The EU is also without a pair of testicles having made their descent.
