    Lancey-

I remember Berman most for the MLB Game of the Week pregame (which was pretty good for its time) and then WNBC.

There were others, too. WNEW's Bill Mazer was a sort of tri-state 1980s Schwab (as in "Schwab, Stump the").

Mazer lived a good long life and died at 93 in 2013.

How could I forget Bill Mazer? He was tremendous. Had a great Sunday night show on the future Fox affiliate. I also remember him breaking down in tears reporting on Pelle Lindbergh's fatal car crash. That shook me up as a 12-year-old.

Len Berman at work. Bland? Sure, a little bit, but at least it was a professional broadcast.
