Geez, sounds like Super Bowl media day.

Agreed w/tx! Belichick did his trademark "next" but couldn't suppress a smile. Brady was laughing, answered, and called it a great question -- because it was!

As there's nothing more worthless than a Belichick press conference, I posit that you are incorrect.

    what's this "posit" shit?

i hope you write better than you post

have you ever actually covered an NFL game? a 3:15 p.m. game (or 4:15 p.m., depending on your time zone)? where by the time you get all your interviews and get upstairs you have two hours to write a gamer and notes?

it's easy for you to sit there at home and blabber on about nothing good has ever come out of a Belichick presser, but that's not the real world. first of all, Bill can be terrific. he can be a pain in the ass, but he can be terrific, too. second of all, in the real world, you don't have time on deadline to make any sweeping judgments about the quality of his pressers. you need a quote.

    pos·it (pzt)
    tr.v. pos·it·ed, pos·it·ing, pos·its
    1. To assume the existence of; postulate. See Synonyms at presume.
    2. To put forward, as for consideration or study; suggest: "If a book is hard going, it ought to be good. If it posits a complex moral situation, it ought to be even better" Anthony Burgess.
    3. To place firmly in position.

    Yep.

Guess what? The 1920s Radio Guy had no effect on your ability to write a game story and notes in two hours.

While you prattle on until spittle flies out of your mouth, much laughter followed the question to Brady, and Brady's answer. Apparently not everyone's ability to work was hampered by the guy.

Inappropriate behavior and a complete moron. The true definition of twatwaffle.

I caught it live, and Belichick didn't smile, rather, he showed a smirk of disdain. And Brady was completely mocking the guy.

Just my impression, but Belichick doesn't seem like a guy who likes to spend a bunch of quality time bantering at post game pressers. Seems to me you're not doing yourself any favors in trying to get some solid comments when you've got idiots throwing out bonehead comments that only serve to lessen his desire to want to be there and lower his opinion of dealing with the media overall.

That was funny. But I feel the deadliners' pain. This wouldn't fly after a loooong-winded night game.

  9. Yes, it was probably inappropriate. But, Jesus, do we have to take ourselves so seriously? We're covering football players/coaches, not cancer doctors. At worst, it was a mild annoyance, not worth losing sleep over.

jesus, who said anything about losing sleep over it or taking ourselves seriously?

These guys have been doing this for years. My first experience with them was at the Texas-Texas A&M game in 2005.

"Coach, coach ... all year long your defense has been the cat's meow. How was Stephen McGee able to come in and give your boys the business?"
